GEI Thailand: Sustainable Development (Summer I) 

Program Overview
In this 3-week intensive program, students gain foundational insight into how communities across Thailand are leading sustainability efforts. You'll participate in field visits, collaborative exercises, and facilitated reflection on development, equity, and climate.

Program Highlights
  • Engage with farmers, entrepreneurs, and NGOs on sustainability strategies
  • Explore case studies of Thai innovation in food systems, energy, and water
  • Learn cultural and ecological frameworks for responsible development
  • Develop your changemaker toolkit through applied learning

Academics
Course & Credits (4 total):
  • ENV302: Global Field Engagement (4 credits)
Learning Outcomes:
  • Understand regional sustainability systems and challenges
  • Link academic theories with local knowledge and practice
  • Strengthen cross-cultural teamwork and ethical reflection
  • Build readiness for further sustainability learning or career steps

Unique Experiences in Thailand
Meet with Buddhist environmental activists, explore eco-tourism initiatives, or analyze urban resilience planning in Thai cities. The experience blends tradition, culture, and science.
