GEI South Africa: Global Engineering (Summer II) 

Program Overview
In this 4-week practicum, students contribute to engineering projects focused on sustainability, public health infrastructure, energy access, or environmental resilience. Guided by local partners and faculty mentors, participants gain hands-on experience in technical and community-driven development.

Academics
Course & Credits (4 total):
  • ENG303: Global Practicum (4 credits)

  • Plan and implement engineering tasks within a supervised team
  • Communicate technical content to diverse stakeholders
  • Analyze challenges in innovation scaling and systems integration
  • Reflect on professional growth and global responsibility

Unique Experiences in South Africa
Internships and practicums may be hosted by NGOs, engineering firms, university labs, or government partners working on infrastructure and sustainability. Weekly learning sessions provide context and build leadership competencies.
