Program Description:
Wellington Cable Car
Located on the southern tip of New Zealand’s North Island, between a beautiful harbor and rolling green hills, the vibrant city of Wellington is the political, cultural and creative capital of New Zealand. Study in New Zealand's safest city, coined the 'Coolest Little Capital'!

Wellington’s central location serves as a perfect home base from which to explore the rest of New Zealand. A diverse and welcoming country, New Zealand has an endless list of adventures awaiting any who dare to be bold.

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) is nestled in the heart of Wellington, with 3 city campuses, all within a 20-25 minute walk of each other:

wellington signOur Kelburn campus, the heart of the university and our largest campus, is located centrally in Wellington (10-15 minute walk to city centre), close to the Wellington Cable Car and the Wellington Botanical Gardens. Kelburn houses our Student Service Centre, the Rankine-Brown Library, Mauri Ora - Student Health, the Recreation Centre, Campus Books, and much more!

Our Pipitea campus is located in the CBD, Wellington’s legal, government, and business district. The campus is home to the Wellington School of Business and Government, the Faculty of Law, and Rutherford House (home to The Atom and the International Office), and sits adjacent to Wellington’s railway station and bus terminus.

Te Aro campus is our centre of Architecture and Design Innovation. It's located close to colourful Cuba Street with funky shops, cafés, and street life as well as supermarkets and convenience stores nearby. All 3 campuses are accessible by footpaths and pedestrian shortcuts, bicycle or e-bikes, and by city bus.

At Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual/agender (LGBTQIA+), and takatapui communities are known as the Rainbow community. The University's rainbow and inclusion service supports LGBTQIA+ and takatapui students and works with our community to make sure our campuses are a safe and inclusive environment for students of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and sex characteristics.

Take courses in Science, Architecture and Design, Education, Engineering, Health, and Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as AACSB-approved Business and Economics courses. VUW also offers environmental science courses that include field-work, internship courses, and many courses with work integrated learning.
