About the Program
Nice is an ideal location on the French Riviera that has long been a place of inspiration—attracting such literary luminaries as Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Virginia Woolf, and artistic geniuses like Renoir, Picasso, Matisse, and Cezanne. Capital of the Côte d’Azur, Nice is the perfect backdrop for honing your skills in creative expression and cultural analysis. Explore the importance of the French Riviera and Southern French culture to the production of literature, film, and art from the 19th century through today. Courses will address texts about the French Riviera, art history focused on artists who produced works in the region, and explore French film, the significance of the Cannes Film festival, and the role of the Riveria in film.
