About the Program

Rome is booming with tourism, service, tech, banking, and research companies, and it’s the hub for the Italian film industry. Our unpaid, academic internships place you at local companies, while you get a chance to experience all that Rome has to offer. Spend your free time getting to know the city beyond the just tourist sights, through IES Abroad-organized cultural events and field trips.

We work with you to perfect your résumé and cover letter, hone your networking and interviewing skills, and prepare you to work in a new culture. You’ll intern at a local business or organization and work for at least 25 hours per week, and enroll in a required 3- or 6-credit internship seminar. An optional 3-credit language course is also offered, the placement for which is determined by an online predeparture language assessment.

Our program guarantees an unpaid, for-credit, internship placement in the field of your choice. Develop your professional skills, your ability to communicate across cultures, and gain real work experience that will jump-start your career in today’s competitive job market.<
