Program Overview

Your CIEE Semester Intern + Study Abroad program in Osaka pairs hands-on professional experience with academic study in one of Japan’s most socially connected and commercially active cities. This program includes three components: A part-time internship with an international organization (approximately 20 hours per week), an internship seminar, and two elective courses taught by CIEE faculty or online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. You’ll enrich your time in Osaka through co-curricular and extracurricular experiences such as spending a day at Universal Studios Japan alongside local students, exploring the lantern-lit streets and temples of Hozenji Yokocho, or joining hands-on cultural workshops that highlight everyday Japanese customs and food culture. You’ll leave with practical skills, global perspective, and memorable experiences rooted in daily life in Osaka.
