Your Business + Culture program in Santiago, Chile places you in the heart of the city’s growing business scene, combining a broad selection of business courses, while immersing you in its spirited culture. You’ll enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities let you dive into Santiago’s culture, from exploring the colorful streets of Barrio Bellavista, hiking in the Andes just outside the city, tasting local cuisine at bustling markets, and visiting a Chilean company such as LATAM Airlines to examine regional business strategy and innovation. Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Santiago will open doors for you to explore Chile’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of excursions and activities: 

  • Visit a winery and discover the full wine production process, from vineyard to bottle, while discussing industry challenges, sustainability, and export strategies 
  • Travel to Chiloé and gain insight into Chile’s mussel and salmon industries, key drivers of the local economy 
  • Explore the traditional town of Pomaire and enjoy hands-on workshops like crafting “greda” pottery and making empanadas, while learning about local traditions
