CIEE Open Campus Block in Lisbon, Portugal

Your Open Campus Block program in Lisbon combines flexibility with the opportunity to live and study in Portugal’s gorgeous capital city. You’ll enroll in CIEE courses and online courses taught through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Beyond your coursework, ride Lisbon’s iconic yellow trams during co-curricular and extracurricular activities like exploring historic neighborhoods such as Alfama and Bairro Alto, tasting traditional pastéis de nata, and enjoying views from the city’s famous hilltop miradouros. Along the way, you’ll discover why Lisbon’s creativity, history, and coastal lifestyle make it one of Europe’s most captivating capitals.

Excursions & Activities
CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Lisbon will open doors for you to explore Portugal's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.
Samples of excursions and activities:
Head to Setúbal, a town south of Lisbon, known for its beautiful coast (and rich dolphin population)
Learn about the history and techniques of Portuguese tile and paint your own tile to take home as a souvenir
Take a day trip to Sintra and visit its enchanted palaces and taste amazing typical pastries
