Program Overview

Your Business + Culture program in Florence gives you the chance to explore Italy’s cultural cradle of art and innovation while combining a broad selection of business courses and hands-on business experience. You’ll enroll in a combination of CIEE courses, host institution courses, and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Step outside the classroom to explore Florence through co-curricular and extracurricular activities like wandering the Uffizi Gallery, strolling across the Ponte Vecchio, sampling Tuscan cuisine at local markets, and attending workshops or lectures that showcase Italy’s rich history of design and entrepreneurship. In Florence, everyday blends professional growth with the timeless beauty and culture of this iconic city.

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Florence will open doors for you to explore Italy’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of excursions and activities: 

  • Enjoy a day trip to Chianti vineyards to explore family-owned wineries, sustainable viticulture, and wine export strategies 
  • Discover Siena, a medieval gem located just an hour away from Florence, to learn about its history, the Palio (historical horse race), visit the Cathedral, and taste local cuisine 
  • Visit the Ferrari Museum to learn about brand strategy, innovation, and luxury automotive business operations
