Program Overview

Your Business + Culture program in Copenhagen combines a broad selection of business courses and immerses you in one of Europe’s most innovative and design-focused cities. You’ll enroll in a combination of CIEE courses and courses taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Dive into co-curricular and extracurricular experiences like biking along the Nyhavn canals, visiting the LEGO House and Danish Design Museum, taking a cooking class on traditional smørrebrød, and participating in industry visits that highlight Denmark’s leadership in sustainable business and global markets. Each day in Copenhagen offers new ways to witness the city’s creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and cultural depth.

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Copenhagen will open doors for you to explore Denmark's rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of excursions and activities: 

  • Explore Carlsberg’s original brewery site to learn how the Jacobsen family built a Danish brewing icon, with its scientific and cultural legacy reflected in a visit to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek 
  • Explore Novonesis to learn how sustainable biotechnology and leadership drive innovative solutions to global challenges, including a visit to a production plant 
  • Take a day trip to Sweden, just across the bridge from Copenhagen, stopping in the charming university town of Lund or exploring Malmö’s canals
