Your Open Campus Block program in Barcelona offers the flexibility to shape your study abroad experience your way. You’ll enroll in CIEE courses and online courses taught through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Beyond your coursework, Barcelona becomes part of the learning experience through co-curricular and extracurricular activities like exploring the Gothic Quarter’s winding streets, discovering Catalan cuisine at neighborhood tapas bars, and spending time along the city’s Mediterranean beaches. Studying here means experiencing the creativity, culture, and energy that make Barcelona one of Europe’s most exciting cities.

  • Academic Projects: Enroll in an optional for-credit academic project that aligns with your goals, qualifications, resume, and availability of placements.

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Barcelona will open doors for you to explore Spain’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.
