Your British summer abroad in the home of the Beatles… at an AVMA-accredited Vet School!

This three-week program is your chance to live in Liverpool, England and experience a British summer. The University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Sciences is an AVMA-accredited vet school, and Loop Abroad is the exclusive opportunity for American undergraduates to spend three weeks on campus learning veterinary medicine and completing three 5-credit modules. During your free time, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the city with your fellow students, with some included tour activities to help you get to know the area and one another. Your weekends are yours to explore, whether you choose to travel to London, take a train trip to Scotland or Wales, catch a soccer game, or relax on the coast.

Who It’s For

To be eligible for this program, you must:
  • be a current student at undergraduate or postgraduate level, OR have completed an undergraduate degree at a university worldwide.
  • be aged 18 or over on the first day of the course. (There is no maximum age for this course.)
  • have completed a minimum of 3-science related undergraduate courses, including biology and chemistry, with a passing grade. (AP biology and AP chemistry may be used to meet this requirement.)

Individuals of any nationality may apply.

Tuition And Housing

Regular tuition is $6,950 for the three-week program.

Interest-free payment plans are available. Current college students may be able to use federal financial aid toward their tuition. Your space is not held until your $1,000 deposit (credited toward tuition) is paid.

Tuition includes your program, courses, housing, course credit, airport transfers in-country, welcome tour, graduation event, and some cultural activities. Tuition does not include meals, medical insurance (the policy we suggest is under $50), passport, free time travel and activities, or souvenirs.

Housing includes kitchenette for self-catering meals. There are many nearby walkable restaurants, ranging in price level, as well as food delivery services such as UberEats. There is not a university meal plan option available on campus during this program.

You will have free time between your courses and course activities, as well as on most weekend days. During free time, you are responsible for the cost of any travel or activities that you choose to do. There are many free or cheap activities in the city, from walking tours to exploring outdoor areas, or you can also travel by train to locations such as London, Scotland or Wales in under four hours. Costs can vary greatly depending on your choice of activities.

Airfare is not included in your tuition, and is your responsibility.

Courses And Hours

Upon successful completion of this program, you will receive a total of 15 University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Science credits, with 5 credits for each of the three course modules. The cost of this credit is included in your program tuition.

This is a study abroad program and all students will participate in the lectures, labs, and assignments in the schedule. Credit for this program is not optional.

All courses are taught by University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Science faculty. This program is a great opportunity to experience living on campus at an AVMA-accredited vet school, ask questions, and get to know faculty in a small class setting, while getting to know your classmates and exploring campus, the city, and your future academic and career options.
