Internship Details
Bali boasts a quality healthcare system, with many top-rated hospitals and clinics which can rival or surpass the services found in many other countries around the world. Medical care is relatively affordable and versatile, catering to the needs of locals and visitors alike. Nursing internships in Bali are provided as valuable learning opportunities for students, who can learn a great deal from experienced professionals.
Nursing internships in Bali are designed to provide real-world learning experiences that are observational in nature. Interns are never directly responsible for patient care and should not expect to be “hands on”, as this is restricted to the country’s fully licensed professionals. Rather, Nursing interns gain insight into the healthcare system, observing how nurses and other medical staff operate, in order to enrich understanding and familiarity, outside of classroom environments. Where there is scope to assist with non-patient care practical tasks, this will be conducted under guidance and supervision of qualified local professionals.
Preferences for internship placement may be stated and discussed in advance; however, will be subject to availability. In addition to clinics and hospitals, there may be scope to assist with certain NGO organizations, running mobile clinics into villages. These mobile rural support services provide check ups and healthcare information, related to prevention.
What to expect in your first week: Interns should expect that the first week of your experience will focus on settling in and gaining some introductory knowledge, to build an understanding of what you can develop, learn, and contribute. Interns are encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback, so that your supervisor(s) understands how you’re progressing and can assist to develop your internship accordingly.
Typical Schedule: Monday to Friday, up to 8 hours per day.
