Program Overview

Your CIEE Summer Global Internship program in San Juan lasts 8 weeks and features two key components: A full-time internship with an international organization (approximately 30-40 hours per week) and an internship seminar. Enhance your experience with cultural and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Puerto Rican culture. Live, learn, and work in San Juan!

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in San Juan will open doors for you to explore Puerto Rico’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, contemporary trends, vibrant art, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.      

Samples of excursions and activities:  

  • Experience the tranquility of paddleboarding in Condado Lagoon 
  • Take a tour of the Bacardi Rum Distillery in Cataño, learning about the history and production of one of the world’s most famous rums 
  • Explore the underground wonders of Río Camuy Cave Park, one of the largest cave systems in the world, with guided tours through its impressive caverns and sinkholes
