Program Overview

Your CIEE Semester Global Internship program in Copenhagen lasts 12 weeks and features three key components: A full-time internship with an international organization (30-40 hours per week), an internship seminar, and a 3-credit academic course taught online through CIEE's global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with cultural and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Danish culture. Live, learn, and work in Copenhagen!

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Copenhagen will open doors for you to explore Denmark's rich diversity, language, culture, history, contemporary trends, vibrant art, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.

Samples of past excursions and activities:

  • Take a train trip across the bridge to Sweden and explore the young city of Malmø (half the population is under 35), brimming with modern urban development planning; continue further to the medieval and modern Lund – home of a 12th century Romanesque cathedral
  • Explore the professional working world of Copenhagen through site visits, networking events, and guest lectures
  • Explore the National Museum and see how Copenhagen transformed from a fishing village in the 10th century to a world leader in sustainability and innovation.

Please note: Activities are based on past programs and subject to change at CIEE's discretion to adapt to local circumstances and participant feedback. Our goal when arranging activities is always to enhance your experience.
