Program Overview

Your CIEE Summer Intern and Study Abroad program in Melbourne lasts 6 weeks and features three key components: A part-time internship with an international organization (15-20 hours per week), an internship seminar, and a 3-credit academic course taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with cultural and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Australian culture. Live, learn, and work in Melbourne!

  • Get a birds’ eye view of Melbourne’s beaches, gardens, and distant Mount Dandenong from the 88th floor of the Melbourne Skydeck, the Southern Hemisphere’s highest observation tower (more than 975 feet tall) 
  • Discover the heart of Melbourne’s rich Aboriginal heritage with the Birrarung Wilam (River Camp) Walk 
  • Meeting Australia’s unique wildlife up close at Healesville Sanctuary and snap a selfie with a koala or kangaroo
