Program Overview

Your CIEE Summer Intern and Study Abroad program in Palma lasts 6 weeks and features three key components: A part-time internship with an international organization (15-20 hours per week), an internship seminar, and a 3-credit academic course taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, ASU. Enhance your experience with cultural and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Portuguese culture. Live, learn, and work in Lisbon!

Program Highlights

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Palma will open doors for you to explore Spain’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, contemporary trends, vibrant art, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.      

Samples of past excursions and activities: 

  • Bike along the bay of Palma with other Spanish students, passing in front of the Cathedral, the harbor, along Palma beaches, the old fisherman villages, and ending at the long sand beach of El Arenal 
  • Enjoy the buzzing market of Santanyí, a mix of art, artisanal souvenirs, and fresh local products; soak up the sun on the white beaches of Mondragó Natural Park 
  • Visit Logitravel, an innovative online travel agency located at Parc Bit, to gain insights into their cutting-edge business operations and how they have revolutionized the travel industry
