Want to gain practical conservation, sustainability, or fieldwork experience from home? Intern Abroad HQ’s remote environmental science internships enable students, graduates, and young professionals to participate virtually in environmental and marine conservation projects around the world. Our remote internships in marine conservation and environmental science give you the opportunity to learn about environmental policy, educate in regard to sustainability, assist with the dissemination of valuable information, and use ecological survey data to help make a difference.

Your customized internship includes sourcing and securing your placement, dedicated support, online orientation and coaching. Eligibility Requirements

At least one year of relevant college/university study in biology, environmental sciences, sustainability, or a related field. High School Students aged 16+ may be accepted, depending on the strength of their application.

This internship is conducted in English.

Academic credit is available for all experiences, through our School of Record partnerships with University of Montana (1-5 credits) and Warren Wilson College (6-16 credits). Check in with your academic advisor to understand if you can apply these transfer credits toward your degree at your home institution.

How to Apply

Apply for free: Complete an online application form via the Intern Abroad HQ website.

Select your start date and duration: All Intern Abroad HQ virtual programs are available year-round and you can choose to intern for 100, 250, or 350 contact hours.

Complete your registration: After you have been accepted on your chosen program, you can secure your place by paying the Deposit.

Pay your Balance: This is due 60 days before your program starts.

Need to make changes to your booking? You can make free unlimited changes to your destination, project and dates up until 60 days before you start.
