Program Description:

Hone your craft at the Welsh National Conservatoire, surrounded by stunning natural beauty

The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is located in the heart of Cardiff, overlooking beautiful urban parkland and just a 5-minute stroll from the city center. Its quality of education, excellent teaching, and thriving arts community make for an unforgettable semester in one of the world’s most scenic places. Experience world-class instruction in Music Performance and Advanced Music Study, catering to a variety of instruments and performance styles. Study here and experience a part of the world steeped with Arthurian myths and legends—Wales offers lots to explore, with thousand-year-old castles and medieval cities such as Chester and York within easy traveling distance. Big cities like London, Liverpool, Manchester, and Dublin are just a few hours away.   • As an Arcadia study abroad student, you will also have the support of Arcadia staff in the London Center to help you settle in and enjoy your semester.
 
  • RWCMD is a vibrant arts center staging 500 performances a year (many of which are free!), giving you access to world-leading artists and student work, often side by side.
 
  • You can get involved in a diverse area of activities, projects, clubs, and sports teams through the Student’s Union. Get to know students outside of your disciplines, share a cuppa, and embrace the small, tight-knit community of RWCMD.
Excursions & Activities

Arcadia includes many fun and exciting excursions, events, and activities - many of which are free and included in your program. You also have a range of optional excursions and events to join such as the exciting Regional Excursion where we bring together students from our England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland programs, and a continental Europe event every Fall and Spring semester.

All Arcadia excursions are designed to be fun, interactive learning opportunities where you can visit places of exceptional interest in the country and enjoy experiences that help to illuminate your studies. You could also earn a Co-curricular Learning Certificate (CLC).
