Eligibility requirement

Suitable for students with at least one year of relevant college/university study in a related field, such as Education, Social Work, TEFL training, etc. High School graduates aged 18+ may be accepted, depending on the strength of their application (including any relevant experience, with a desire to learn and grow within this field).

If you’re looking to gain experience teaching the English language, then look no further! With internship placements teaching students in a range of language schools and/or public schools around Prague, these Language Education internships in the Czech Republic offer hands-on experience while being guided by experienced local teachers.

As an intern, you can support and assist local English language teachers to prepare and host English lessons for individuals, corporate clients or in open group courses. You’ll help to develop learning activities and games, as well as provide individual assistance to students during classes to ensure they’re being appropriately challenged. Teaching adult students means they’ll often already have an understanding of the English language, making communication much easier.

It is important to keep the general academic calendar in mind when you’re scheduling your Language Education internship. It is possible for interns to have a combined internship schedule, which may include placement at a public school, as well as at a language school for mature adult learners. If your internship coincides with the summer holiday period (from June through August) then your full-time internship schedule may be split between two placements, which is coordinated in order to work around any summer holiday disruptions.

Language Education interns are supported by a local teacher, who will help to provide tasks and feedback to ensure you’re maximizing your own learning experience. Interns will learn how to engage classrooms and students, and will have opportunities to both support the head teacher and host lessons yourself.

There is also scope to contribute to the organization and management of language schools, which involves tasks related to ongoing administration.
