Internship Details

This internship provides the opportunity to support a vital community service, which provides free sports education and sports clubs to primary schools and pre-school centers. Many of the children who benefit from this service have special needs, disabilities and come from disadvantaged homes. The activities provided through Community Sports & Physical Education programs help to keep vulnerable youth off the streets and focused on extracurricular activities, where they can join teams, play with others, and achieve their goals.

This is a fun and lively internship where you’ll gain practical skills and understanding in engaging young children aged between 5 and 13 years old. Interns who contribute to Community Sports & Physical Education should be positive, enthusiastic, motivated, proactive, patient and passionate. These are essential attributes for any career in child development and support, but even more important when you’re engaging in a diverse culture and community.

Children require a lot of support and stimulation to learn, so interns are encouraged to come prepared with fresh ideas for games, physical education, and social interaction. Interns should keep in mind that it’s common to encounter different beliefs and attitudes toward Physical Education and youth development. Your in-country coordinator will be available for support, reflection and discussion throughout.
