Viticulture & Agriculture Internship in Greece.
Viticulture & Agriculture internships offer hands-on experiences at a vineyard and olive farm in the quiet village of Lussakies, near Chania, Crete - one of Greece’s most stunningly beautiful destinations. Interns assist local farmers with seasonal tasks, learning both modern and traditional techniques. These are culturally immersive internships, where you’ll experience traditional Greek lifestyle and values and contribute to locally-owned farms and vineyards.
Interns are accommodated in clean and comfortable, fully furnished apartments or selected hotel / hostel rooms. Bedding and furnishings are provided, as well as common areas such as lounge, kitchen and laundry facilities.

Internship Details
Viticulture and Agriculture interns have the unique cultural experience of a lifetime on this program, as you can combine the chance to learn and use practical farming techniques from local Greek farmers, who work and live in Crete. People in such rural areas live traditional lives based around family and food, and interns are immersed into local families and their simple yet enriched way of life.
Your internship activities will be carried out in a rural vineyard and olive tree farm, not wineries themselves. Therefore, you should ensure that you’re comfortable in rural areas and able to entertain yourself in the great outdoors. This is an ideal setting for those looking for a digital detox and wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of main centers!
As an intern, you’ll assist local farmers with the seasonal tasks that are required to produce healthy grapes, quality wine and olive oil. Because tasks are seasonal, interns should come with an open mind and willingness to help with whatever activities are being carried out at the time. Activities are largely based around manual work, and can include:
- Soil preparation, planting and maintenance of crops
- Erecting support structures for the plants and pruning
- Assisting with irrigation
- Controlling for pests and diseases
- Picking
- Assisting to crush and ferment grapes
- Assisting with packing/bottling/labeling
