Program Description:
Community Ecuador
Join International Volunteer HQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization, on the Community Development Volunteer Project in Ecuador. You will try a range of different types of volunteering while helping local initiatives improve their communities. Whether it’s by renovating, beautifying or improving facilities, or hosting workshops on important social issues, volunteers make a tangible difference to bettering neighborhoods for the benefit of the people who live there.

You’ll stay in a volunteer house or homestay. Bedrooms have single beds, bunk beds or a double bed and you can expect to share a room with one or two other volunteers.

Programs start every Monday throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-12 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.

Your Impact

As a Community Development volunteer you’ll work with local groups who work to better their neighborhoods. Duties will vary depending on the initiative, but often include:
  • Maintaining, cleaning up and renovating local schools, community centers and playgrounds
  • Hosting workshops on important social issues such as non-violence, women’s empowerment, school support and human rights.

Basic Spanish is recommended but not required for this project.
