This program is a great way for volunteers to assist with a wide range of important community initiatives designed to help vulnerable people. Volunteers will gain experience in schools, childcare, community soup kitchens, a women’s refuge and any other community projects which have an urgent need for help and support.
You’ll stay in a volunteer house run by the local coordinator’s family or in a homestay.
The program has
start dates on the first and third Monday of the month throughout the year.

Your Impact
As a Community Support volunteer you can help in schools, soup kitchens, childcare centers and a women’s refuge. Volunteer duties depend entirely on the needs of the community at the time but can include things like:
- Preparing and serving meals
- Small renovation projects and building maintenance
- Gardening, landscaping and outdoor work
- Charity and fundraising for disadvantaged communities
- English, art and sports workshops

How to Apply
- Select your start date & duration: All IVHQ volunteer programs are available year-round and you can choose to volunteer for durations on this program ranging from 1 to 12 weeks.
- Complete your registration: After you have been accepted on your chosen program, you can secure your place by paying the Registration Fee.
- Pay your Program Fee: This is only due 30 days before your program starts.
Need to make changes to your booking? You can make free unlimited changes to your destination, project and dates up until 14 days before you start.
