Program Description:

Arts Music Jordan
Join International Volunteer HQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization, on the Arts and Music Volunteer Program in Jordan.

You will arrange and run creative workshops for disadvantaged children in Amman. Volunteers gain teaching experience while sharing their love of art and music in a way that helps encourage students to learn about and raise awareness of global issues, and to make positive changes in their own community and way of life.

You’ll be hosted in a homestay where you’ll live with a local family. It is an exciting chance to learn the Jordanian way of life, meet local people, eat local food, speak the local language and engage in local customs and traditions.

Programs start every first and third Saturday of the month throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-12 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.

Your Impact

When you volunteer in Arts and Music, you’ll work alongside a team of local staff and fellow volunteers helping to run creative workshops for disadvantaged children. You’ll use art and music therapy to broach important universal topics that can also help students to understand their roles as global citizens in the world. These include:
  • Diversity
  • Gender equality
  • The pursuit of their dreams
  • Deforestation
  • Plastic and pollution
  • Climate change

You’ll also help to promote a variety of important life skills such as creativity, confidence, communication, problem solving and teamwork. Many placements tend to have a stronger focus on art as opposed to music, though if you want to do more music-related activities, please note that on your application. It may be helpful to bring your own musical equipment with you in these instances, and please also be prepared to take part in art activities if required.
