Program Description:
Childcare Laos
Join International Volunteer HQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization, and support the Childcare Volunteer Program in Laos.

On this program, you will assist in early childhood centers in Luang Prabang. Volunteers gain experience in childcare while helping local staff with daily jobs and providing extra care and attention to local children.

Volunteers are accommodated in a dormitory-style volunteer house in Luang Prabang.

The program has start dates every Monday throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-12 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.
 
Your Impact

As a Childcare volunteer you’ll be based in various childcare centers around Luang Prabang. All placements have fixed weekly activities, focusing mainly on education, such as English language classes. Topics such as morality, hygiene and Laotian traditions are also discussed. While some basic resources are available, you’re encouraged to use your initiative to develop activities and bring resources to assist you. Many centers also support creative activities like painting, drawing, origami or dancing, and some organize visits to the river or local villages.

Volunteer duties will vary depending on your placement but generally include:
  • Arranging games and activities
  • Cooking and food preparation
  • Feeding children
  • Cleaning up after meals
  • Teaching
  • Caring for children
  • Administration

  • Select your start date & duration: All IVHQ volunteer programs are available year-round and you can choose to volunteer for durations on this program ranging from 1 to 12 weeks.
  • Complete your registration: After you have been accepted on your chosen program, you can secure your place by paying the Registration Fee.
  • Pay your Program Fee: This is only due 30 days before your program starts.
Need to make changes to your booking? You can make free unlimited changes to your destination, project and dates up until 14 days before you start.
