Volunteers in Kandy are accommodated in a volunteer house. Homestay accommodation is also available in Kandy and is a popular option for couples or older volunteers. This option can be arranged with our local team according to availability.

The program has start dates every Monday throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-12 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.

Your Impact

Medical volunteers in Sri Lanka are placed in a training hospital in an observational capacity, shadowing local staff and providing assistance where necessary. Local regulations prevent volunteers from working alone, so you should not expect independent tasks.

Medical volunteers are required to provide the following once you’ve registered, no later than two weeks before your program start date:
  • Your CV/resume specific to medical skills and experience
  • Pre medical students need to provide their acceptance letter from university (if possible)
  • Medical/nursing students need to provide a letter of recommendation from a medical tutor or supervisor
