Program Description:
Childcare India
Join International Volunteer HQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization, and support the Childcare Volunteer Program in Delhi or Kerala.

On this program, you will gain experience in early childhood education at childcare centers or junior classrooms. These centers are often extremely busy with large numbers of children attending. Support from volunteers can ease the workload for local staff  and teachers and improve access to care and education for young children.

Volunteers are accommodated in shared rooms in a volunteer house run by local coordinators.

The program has start dates every Monday throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-24 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.

Your Impact

As a Childcare volunteer, you will work in early childhood education centers or junior classrooms. Children at these placements are typically aged between 4 and 8 years old.

Childcare volunteer duties often include:
  • Running English lessons
  • Assisting with homework
  • Teaching essential life skills
  • Helping with art and music-based learning
  • Supporting teachers with sports and games

You will be required to work independently at times when teachers are not in the classroom but local teaching coordinators will be on hand to support you throughout your time on this rewarding and fun project. Volunteers can be in charge of a small group of students or teach in pairs.
