Program Description:
Womens Ed Nepal
Join International Volunteer HQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization, and support the Women's Education Volunteer Project in Nepal.

On this program, you will assist at education centers with the aim of upskilling women who missed out on formal education in their youth. These centers support women to gain school qualifications. Volunteers will gain teaching experience largely by helping students learn English - a skill which can greatly enhance their job prospects and enrich their futures.

On arrival in Nepal, volunteers stay in a local hotel in Kathmandu for their two-day orientation. Volunteers are then accommodated together in homestays and hosted by local families who have been approved by our program staff. We give your host family a fee for your support, food and board. It is exciting to stay with a host family, providing you with a unique opportunity to learn about the Nepalese way of life, meet local people, try traditional food and speak the local language - especially when host families in Nepal tend to have limited English.

The program has start dates the first and third Monday every month throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-12 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.

Your Impact

The women who attend the program are very committed to giving their education a second chance, and are often particularly interested in learning English. The practicality of speaking English gives their job prospects a huge boost, as does the qualification they are striving to achieve.

As a Women’s Education volunteer you will have a great opportunity to get an insight into the lives of the people you will be helping and to learn more about their culture. Your volunteer tasks will include:
  • Teaching English to women
  • Teaching basic lessons from a curriculum
  • Helping women learn new skills
  • Running workshops on women’s rights and reproductive health
  • Assist in research, developing proposals, designing
