Program Description:

Arcadia CGEE Medical Observe
Gain practical medical experience in Mexico this summer

Now, more than ever, the ability to interact with the Spanish-speaking population is critical in the field of medicine. Future medical professionals can take part in an intensive summer program that not only provides a Spanish-language course designed for healthcare environments but also includes a Clinical Observership for the practical application of your skills.

Based in Cuernavaca, the capital of the Mexican state of Morelos in central Mexico, this exciting eight-week summer program offers coursework in Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, as well as an internship component where you will shadow physicians in various specialties, participate in health seminars, take part in practicum visits, and more.

An array of excursions, invited guest experts, and a commitment to maintaining a community-based ethos through participation in homestays characterize this unique opportunity.

  • The intensive Spanish course is taught by a Mexican physician, for maximum utilization of healthcare-related vocabulary and subject matter.

  • Cuernavaca is known as the “City of Eternal Springtime” for its mild, enjoyable weather. Your home base there will be the “Casa Augsburg,” located in the San Antón neighborhood, a 15-20 minute walk from downtown.

  • Your clinical observership follows the guidelines of Global Ambassadors for Patient Safety.

  • Four semesters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent are required for this program.
