Program Description:
Childcare Guatemala
Join International Volunteer HQ, the world’s leading volunteer travel organization, and support the Childcare Volunteer Program in Guatemala.

On this program, you will gain experience assisting in schools and early childhood centers in Antigua. By providing a safe space for children from disadvantaged neighborhoods, volunteers can help to nurture them with access to education, fun and support.

Volunteers are accommodated in a large, dormitory style volunteer house.

The program has start dates every Monday throughout the year.

This program ranges from 1-24 weeks. Your fully-hosted experience includes airport pick-up, orientation, accommodation, meals and 24/7 support. Detailed pricing information for your duration is available on our website.

Children from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Guatemala often have a poor home life, little to no schooling and alcohol or drug abuse among their families. With the help of volunteers, schools and childcare centers are better equipped to provide safe places where children have access to education and strong support networks that can help them build healthy, fulfilling lives and be more likely to break the cycle of poverty.

Childcare volunteer work varies according to your specific placement, but generally consists of:

  • Select your start date & duration: All IVHQ volunteer programs are available year-round and you can choose to volunteer for durations on this program ranging from 1 to 24 weeks.
  • Complete your registration: After you have been accepted on your chosen program, you can secure your place by paying the Registration Fee.
  • Pay your Program Fee: This is only due 30 days before your program starts.
Need to make changes to your booking? You can make free unlimited changes to your destination, project and dates up until 14 days before you start.
