The GREEN Program (TGP) is an award-winning experiential education program focused on our world's most pressing issues in sustainable development. Since 2009, our mission is to educate and empower future sustainability leaders through experiential education, responsible travel, and adventure. Today, our alumni represent 470 universities across 70 countries and are now making an impact at organizations such as The Environmental Protection Agency, National Geographic, NASA, Rivian, Boeing, Nike, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Google, and more.

Who this program is for: The GREEN Belize Program is an ideal fit for environmentally-conscious individuals with an interest in ocean conservation and a strong commitment to supporting local community leaders in their efforts to take climate action and promote the blue/green economy. If you are inspired by marine biodiversity, and sustainable practices, and are eager to explore innovative solutions like seaweed farming as a means to combat climate change and support ocean conservation, this program offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact. Whether you are a student studying marine biology or environmental science (we are open to all majors!), or a young professional interested in sustainable aquaculture, The GREEN Belize Program provides an immersive and transformative experience that will empower you to be a proactive force in protecting our planet's vital aquatic ecosystems. Prepare to be captivated by the beauty of Belize's marine wonders, forge meaningful connections with local leaders, and contribute to a sustainable future for our oceans through seaweed farming and other climate-friendly initiatives.

Student Testimonials: What TGP Alumni are saying

"There’s nothing else like The GREEN Program in the world right now. From a recruiting standpoint, going on TGP during a school break shows so much intentionality. The GREEN Program is such good interview material because it's such an incredible experience, and the recruiters want to hear about them. I've been to Peru and Japan multiple times before, and with TGP, there were still so many new, purposefully curated experiences that added new levels to my understanding. TGP alumni are making an impact in every industry and I can't wait to connect with them in the alumni network. You can't ask for a better learning experience than being there."
- Kevin Yuan, Global Sustainability Lead, Senior Manager, Nike

"Regardless of the specific program, each iteration of The GREEN Program guarantees a transformative journey, where self-discovery is the norm. Engaging in these immersive experiences, you will learn new things about yourself and expand your comfort zone. The essence of The GREEN Program lies in its ability to challenge and inspire individuals to explore uncharted territories, both internally and externally. By embarking on this unique journey, I have redefined my limits and unlocked a newfound sense of adventure, self-awareness, and resilience."
- Muntaha Imteyaz, Architectural Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology

"TGP has been shaping my career and helping reinforce my core values since 2016. From a bright-eyed sophomore Mechanical Engineering student from south Texas to a skilled professional in the reliability industry living in Chicago, TGP has been a consistent source of support, encouragement, and continuous learning. Both the in-person and online programs that I attended taught me invaluable transferable skills, grew my network within the sustainability community, and helped me realize that pursuing a graduate degree in Sustainability Management was my next big step. From there, the TGP Alumni Network and the resources poured into it have enabled my biggest leap yet. Now, I'm proud to say I am going to be leading the sustainable engineering program for a Fortune 500 company starting this spring."
- Amy Marie Amaon, Sustainability Manager, Blue Cross and Blue Shield

"The GREEN Program was truly a one-of-a-kind experience that helped me confirm that the energy industry was what I wanted to pursue for my career.  Taking advantage of an alternative winter break to experience the education and adventure these programs offer allowed me to learn about renewable energy facilities up close and personal. This made me want to find ways to increase clean energy technologies where I live, and I am now contributing to doing just that in the City of Philadelphia. Also, The TGP Alumni network was also one of the ways I found out about my current job."
- Maxine Dixon, Operations Manager, Philadelphia Energy Authority (PEA)
