Webster University opened its first European campus in Geneva in 1978 and today Webster University Geneva is home to 300 students from over 90 countries who come together in a community of learners engaged by a faculty representing 25 nations. Webster University Geneva is located in a park-like setting in the suburban town of Bellevue, an 8-minute train ride from central Geneva. The secure and tranquil setting is a brief walk from Lake Geneva (Lake Leman) and affords spectacular views of Mont Blanc. Both train and bus services are available immediately adjacent to the campus.
The campus offers classrooms, academic and staff offices, recording and photographic studios, a cafeteria, a fitness center, a student recreational area, and a library. The library consists of a physical collection of over 25,000 items and is supported by a professional, accredited Librarian and trained staff.

Geneva, Switzerland
Geneva is the historic center of international cooperation and is home to the headquarters of the United Nations and the Red Cross. Over 250 non-governmental organizations are based in the cosmopolitan city, as well as numerous multinational corporations, financial and trading centers. Geneva is a true urban lakeside resort, with many beaches and parks, and plenty of water activities: swimming, sailing, diving, wakeboarding, stand up paddle, pedal boats, rafting, kayaking, etc. The Geneva region is perfect for nature lovers and offers many hiking trails, skiing, walks and bike rides. Thrill-seekers will enjoy paragliding activities with 360-degree views over the region.
Geneva is also a city of culture and is home to some unique art, history and humanitarian museums. Geneva’s Old Town is Switzerland's largest historical and medieval city.
Last but not least, Geneva is situated in the heart of Europe and has its own airport so it is easy to visit other European cities, all accessible in less than two hours by plane.
Student Housing
All study abroad students are required to live in campus-provided housing and will be assigned to either Les Berges du Rhône or Les Savoises, in central Geneva, or in the Living and Learning Center (LLC) on campus. The vast majority of study abroad students live in central Geneva.
As the off-campus residences, Les Berges and Les Savoises are in a prime location within the city. The diverse and lively neighborhood makes it easy for students to discover and enjoy all that an international city like Geneva has to offer – many shops, markets, banks, cafes, and restaurants are all within walking distance. Both are well serviced by public transportation and are only 30 minutes from campus by tram and train.
The Living and Learning Center is Webster Geneva's on-campus residence and students living here have access 24/7 to on-site laundry facilities, fitness room, and a student lounge. Located in the residential lakeside community of Bellevue, students have access to several restaurants, a pharmacy, grocery shops and a bank only a short walk away. The centre of Geneva is easily accessible by public transportation (8 to 12 minute direct train ride).
Students live in double or single occupancy rooms, generally located within a shared suite. Please note double or single preference is subject to availability. Each student will have their own bed (with linens), desk, and a wardrobe. All apartments include a shared kitchen and bath. Wireless internet access is available throughout.
Assistance Residence Coordinators (ARCs) live on the premises and are available to help students manage and enjoy their experience in Geneva. Students at Les Berges have to use key badge to access the building and their room. Students at Les Savoises have a code to enter the building and a key to access their room. Students at the LLC have a code to get into the building with a key card to access their room.
Student Life
The student community at Webster Geneva organizes a wide range of events and activities to entertain, inform and challenge students from ski trips and movie nights to club meetings and LEADS program retreats. The Student Services, SGA and clubs organize many events that celebrate the international diversity of the Geneva campus community including, Global Thanksgiving and Webster’s Got Talent. Numerous trips are offered to discover the city and iconic places in Switzerland.
Study Abroad students can join the clubs, as well as the Webster Humanitarian Association (WHA), perfect for the students who have an interest in human rights, supporting communities in need or addressing social issues.
Webster Geneva students and faculty work together to organize academic conferences, workshops and forums. The Career services as well as the Counseling Center are very active and offer personalized support as well as regular meetings. By participating in these events, students will have opportunities to strengthen friendships, meet experts and develop an unparalleled professional network.
Webster Geneva has a full team of staff on site to provide support and assistance to the students.
All courses are taught in English by highly qualified faculty. Students do not need to know French to apply. The majority of people in Geneva speak some English, however, learning a few basic phrases in French is always a good idea. The French language course is very popular for study abroad students and helps them learn to communicate in French. The Geneva campus offers a variety of courses in various disciplines, all of which are available to study abroad students.
Undergraduate students of all majors are welcome to study abroad at Webster Geneva even if their major is not offered in full. Webster Geneva offers a wide variety of General Education courses and electives in addition to core courses for majors such as Finance, Economics, Business and Management, International Relations, Media Studies, Computer Science, Photography, and Psychology.
Graduate students pursuing their degree in International Relations (MA), Counseling (MA), or their MBA can take their core classes at the Webster Geneva campus.

Academic Requirements & Registration Guidelines
- Please note that all course offerings are subject to change. Changes in faculty availability and student enrollment can occasionally result in course cancellations.
- Students must register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per term or 12 credit hours for the semester locally at Webster Geneva. Online courses and independent study courses do not count towards the minimum.
- All courses are 3 credit hours unless otherwise indicated.
- Attendance is expected and required; absences will negatively affect grades.

Webster academic tuition scholarships, federal loans, and grants do apply to single-term, semester, and academic year students studying abroad at a Webster campus (not summer). Work-study funding does not apply as students are not able to work while abroad. Also, be sure to check out the available study abroad scholarships. For non-Webster students, contact your university's financial aid office to confirm how federal and institutional aid may apply. Be sure to ask about available study abroad scholarship opportunities at your home campus. Affiliate students may be eligible for the WINS Travel Award airfare scholarship.
