VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP

From small businesses to multinational corporations, more and more organizations are moving to a hybrid or work-from-anywhere environment. A work culture like this requires independence, motivation and time management. Hone these skills and more with virtual internship opportunities with AIFS Abroad.

With the flexibility to intern wherever you wish, a remote position with an international company will ensure that cross-cultural communication skills are developed and problem-solving and critical thinking know-how is improved. Thanks to AIFS Abroad’s professional development, learn how to leverage these refined competencies and experiences into future interviews and jobs.

Virtual internships run during the fall, winter, spring and summer terms for 8 or 12 weeks with the option for full-time or part-time work.

Placement Process

The AIFS Abroad Enrollment Team reviews application materials, which are a combination of relevant work experience, college or university level course work, and an assessment of maturity and readiness for working in a professional setting. After a participant has been accepted, we guarantee an internship placement.

Our team works with applicants 1:1 to gain a better understanding of the skills they will bring to their team, talents they want to grow, and expectations they have of their experience. By working individually with each intern we can assess academic knowledge, career goals, language proficiency, and overall expectations for your virtual internship, in order to place you in a dynamic work environment.

Once a match is found, all interns will interview by phone or Zoom with their manager before the placement is offered and confirmed. When your internship begins, your program advisor will be there to support you with virtual check-ins and coaching to make the most of your internship placement.

What Makes AIFS Abroad different?

Career Readiness

Professional development is at the foundation of our preparation for participants' time abroad. We utilize the Clifton Strengths assessment as a tool to help all participants understand themselves better, provide a vocabulary around their natural talents, and deepen the impact of their experience abroad.

Access, Inclusion, Diversity, & Equity (AIDE)

As an organization we are committed to ensuring all identities are able to thrive in an inclusive global educational environment. Everyone has a complex identity, and the different aspects of your identity are important when deciding on a program and location. Review our Social Identity Pages to assist you when selecting a program that best fits your interests and needs.
Student Resources

Sustainability

We are the first education abroad provider to sign on with the Climate Action Network for International Educators (CANIE). Focused on making education abroad carbon neutral, we include carbon offsets for all participants' return flights, environmental education connecting students on the ground to environmental projects, and make our own business practices more sustainable.
