SIT Study Abroad: Jordan: Counseling & Humanitarian Action Internship (Summer)

Learn the principles of humanitarian action in crisis situations in Jordan, home to millions of displaced persons and refugees. Participate in a five-week internship with organizations such as the International Rescue Committee, Care International, or Jordan Health Aid Society to support Syrian refugees. Understand refugee relief priorities including water, sanitation, food security, shelter, and health services. Gain exposure to conflict-related trauma, psychosocial challenges, and counseling guidelines while reflecting on professional practice in humanitarian and mental health settings. Please visit the SIT Study Abroad website for details on the program, coursework, educational excursions, and housing.

HEAR FROM A FORMER STUDENT

"I learned about what an NGO truly is, how they work, the negative and positive obstacles or outcomes they produce, the refugee crisis in the Middle East, intercultural communication, and much much more that can only be learned through experience. It was most definitely worth-while."
