Program Overview

The SSA January Term in Alicante is designed for students of all levels of Spanish proficiency who seek an immersive academic and cultural experience. This intensive language program combines Spanish language instruction with cultural exploration and local engagement in one of Spain’s most vibrant coastal cities.

Located on Spain’s Costa Blanca, Alicante is a stunning Mediterranean city that blends a relaxed seaside atmosphere with a dynamic urban vibe. Known for its sunny climate, rich history, and welcoming locals, Alicante offers a unique backdrop for studying Spanish while enjoying authentic cultural experiences, from historic festivals to flavorful cuisine.

Housing

Participants may choose between a homestay or a student residence.

  • Student Residence: Independent housing with students from diverse backgrounds. Residences are centrally located, close to academic facilities and city attractions, and offer communal amenities with staff support.
