Program Description:

Royal Conservatoire Scotland
Young performing artists from across the world converge on this center of excellence

Founded in 1845, Charles Dickens gave its inaugural speech, setting the stage for a truly innovative institution to grow into what it is today – one of the most prestigious schools for the performing arts in the world. At the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, you will experience world-class training across a wide variety of performance styles and production techniques.

You can choose courses from a large number of artistic disciplines including: modern ballet, music, production arts and design, and production technology and management. There are opportunities to perform abroad as the Conservatoire offers six performance venues that host over 500 performances a year by students, staff, and visiting international artists. Your development will certainly continue long after the stage curtain closes. Spend an evening out in the city’s theatre district, an afternoon at the modern art museum, or enjoy a local football match.

  • You can nurture your creative talents with high-level training in performance and production using state-of-the-art facilities and some of the best teaching in the world.

  • Benefit from RCS’s unique relationship with BBC Scotland, the National Theatre of Scotland, the Scottish Ballet, the Scottish Opera, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

  • You must provide audition videos of quality performance-related material. For performing arts, a solid grounding in both classical and modern theater is required. Please see Guide to Applicants.

  • Travel to fascinating places of interest that enhance your cultural immersion and give a meaningful context to your academic courses, through Arcadia's planned Excursions and Activities.?
