Summer Study Abroad in Northern Ireland
Why Northern Ireland?
The World Endeavors Summer Study in Northern Ireland – Queen’s University Belfast offers students the chance to take an intensive course in Irish studies at the prestigious and historic Queen’s University Belfast. Students gain a richer, deeper understanding of Irish culture, particularly the unique atmosphere of Northern Ireland, while experiencing life in the fascinating city of Belfast. Outside the classroom, students have the opportunity to meet with representatives of Northern Ireland’s political parties, who help students learn more about the tumultuous history and current political issues of Northern Ireland. The program includes travel opportunities to sites such as the Stormont Parliament Buildings, Clifton Street Cemetery, Belfast’s Titanic Quarter, and the historic city of Londonderry, where students visit the Tower Museum and the Museum of Free Derry and take a tour of the murals and city walls. For students who wish to travel independently, Belfast is conveniently located for day and weekend trips.
